SUPERA Park Welcomes Canadian Delegation for Networking and Internationalization Event

February, 2025 – Event Featured Presentations from Five Brazilian Startups Incubated and Associated with SUPERA Park

The SUPERA Innovation and Technology Park in Ribeirão Preto hosted a visit from the Canadian Consulate delegation for an event focused on internationalization opportunities and networking. Representatives from the Canadian Consulate provided an overview of the country’s market, followed by presentations from Canadian startups, which showcased their work via the Google Meet platform.

In-person, the event also featured Marcelle Soldá, Project Coordinator and representative of Global Startups, a Canadian accelerator and SUPERA’s partner. She emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and establishing strategies to expand opportunities between Brazilian and Canadian startups. “Canada Day was an incredible event and a special opportunity to reinforce technological ties between Brazil and Canada, bringing innovative startups from both countries closer to their innovation ecosystems, fostering new partnerships and internationalization opportunities,” said Marcelle Soldá.

The event was organized by the International Office, which supports startups incubated and associated with SUPERA Parque in their international expansion efforts.

Marcio Francesquine, Trade Commissioner at the Consulate General of Canada in Brazil, highlighted the significance of the event in connecting both countries’ markets and how joint efforts can help complement technologies and drive new business development. “This type of gathering is key, allowing us to bring together companies at different technological levels and enhance this bilateral trade in a very healthy way,” commented Francesquine.

Five startups from SUPERA Parque also had the opportunity to present their work and developed technologies. They were:

  • IA Sense, focused on computer vision and Artificial Intelligence, represented by Jean-Jacques de Groote, CTO.
  • Diasci PD&I, developing a device for brain tumor detection, represented by researcher Cristiano Jayme.
  • ByMyCell, a genomics platform developer, represented by founder and CTO Rafael Silva Rocha.
  • Phelcom, specializing in retinal imaging equipment, represented by International Business Manager Mário Sergio da Costa.
  • NOCK, developing Ultraviolet C radiation technology, represented by co-founder and CEO Fernando Storion.

“This type of event provides greater visibility for the innovations and technologies we are developing, enabling connections that can lead to our company’s expansion,” emphasized Rafael Silva Rocha, representing ByMyCell at the event. The company has been in the market for three years and was one of the startups incubated at SUPERA Parque.

Hilton Nascimento, Commercial Director of the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce, discussed the characteristics of the Canadian and Brazilian markets, which feature companies of similar sizes and structures. “If a Canadian company is involved in a project with a Brazilian company, they can secure the necessary funding for the project through Canadian government credit lines. So, when these connections happen, we are not just talking about technologies but also about resources to make projects feasible,” the director highlighted.

Henrique Reis, Coordinator of the International Office at SUPERA Parque, reinforced the importance of the event. “The main idea was to create a bridge between Brazil and Canada, showcasing the Canadian market opportunities to the Brazilian audience and vice versa.” The coordinator presented the structure of SUPERA Parque and the services offered by the International Office to the Canadian delegation.
