Argentinian Delegation Visits SUPERA Parque for International Partnership

December 2024 – SUPERA hosted Provincial Directors of Scientific Policy and Technological Development from the Buenos Aires Government, along with representatives from Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Secretariat of Science, Technology, and Innovation of São Paulo State.

To strengthen the technology and innovation sector on the international stage, SUPERA Parque welcomed Ivan Nahuel Ares Rossi and Leandro Javier Viscelli, Provincial Directors of Scientific Policy and Technological Development of the Buenos Aires Government; André Galvão, representative from Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE); and Bruno Mira Davi, Technical Director and Coordinator of Science and Innovation of São Paulo State. The meeting took place last Wednesday (27th) at SUPERA’s headquarters in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo.

The meeting, organized by the International Office—a department that supports SUPERA-affiliated companies looking to expand abroad and assists foreign companies seeking to enter the Brazilian market—aimed to showcase the park’s success stories. Discussions included how SUPERA has become one of Latin America’s largest incubators, as recognized by UBI Global, and how its business model can be adapted for implementation in neighboring Argentina.

SUPERA Parque boasts an impressive track record of awards in both national and international innovation landscapes and partnerships with renowned ecosystems worldwide. According to the Argentinian delegation, SUPERA’s achievements in Ribeirão Preto are highly regarded abroad and could serve as a model to foster Argentina’s technological sector.

“In the case of SUPERA, the technological park model and its coordination between companies is highly interesting for us in Buenos Aires Province. We admire the growth of startups and the collaboration among São Paulo State, Ribeirão Preto municipality, and the park’s administration. Understanding how researchers turn their projects into companies and contribute to the productive sector is vital. We’re keen to adapt this model to develop Argentina’s tech and production sectors,” said Ivan Nahuel Ares Rossi, Provincial Director of Scientific Policy and Technological Development for Buenos Aires.

For André Galvão from Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the exchange of ideas and experiences is essential to benefit technological innovation and advance impactful projects for Brazilian and Argentinian entrepreneurs.

“This project, coordinated and funded by the Brazilian Cooperation Agency and its Argentine counterpart, aims to exchange knowledge and good practices in science, technology, and innovation. We’ve studied Argentina’s innovation ecosystems, and they’re now visiting São Paulo to understand our initiatives. This collaboration will help identify best practices to strengthen innovation environments in both São Paulo State and Buenos Aires Province,” explained André Galvão.

With 20 years of operation, SUPERA Incubadora is recognized as one of the best incubators in Latin America, according to the UBI Global ranking. The incubator has supported over 400 projects and helped graduate more than 40 companies.

“On behalf of the Secretariat, we’re promoting the internationalization of innovation environments in São Paulo State. This strategic mission with Argentina allows us to exchange knowledge, benefiting both countries’ innovation ecosystems,” added Bruno Mira Davi, Technical Director and Coordinator of Science and Innovation for São Paulo State.
